Hi,
Trying to upgrade our current EGroupware installation 14.3 on Debian 8 using
apt, but all the egroupware packages are kept back.
If I attempt a dist-upgrade I’m prompted that the following packages are
going to be removed: egroupware-epl-emailadmin and egroupware-epl-pixelegg.
The package egroupware-epl-emailadmin is what gives 14.3 groups so I would
prefer not to remove it.
EMailAdmin has nothing to do with groups. It’s functionality and also
the -pixelegg one are included now in egroupware-epl-core.
So not problem to have both removed.
We have the necessary username and password from submitting our stats while
using egroupware 1.8 to log into stylite.de repo and according the
instructions
(https://github.com/EGroupware/egroupware/wiki/Group-administration-for-long-time-CE-users)
it’s set up correctly and seems to be working.
Then you get the 16.1 version of egroupware-epl-groups, which provides
group management (and only depends on api).
So why is the egroupware-epl-emailadmin package being removed is it no
longer required for groups to work?
Can I safely do a dist-upgrade without loosing any functionality in
egroupware or breaking our current install?
Yes.
