Hi Robert,
I just wanted to check in with a few observations. Over the weekend I
upgraded my EGW server from Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.0. The in place upgrade
worked very well.
I noticed a few issues relating to Apache2 and PHP
Apache was upgraded to Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu)
A number of configuration options have changed but following the
error messages enabled me to correct them
A number of modules were not loaded originally including mod_cgi
and mod_rewrite.
I’m also getting an error:
PHP Deprecated: mysql_connect():
The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the
future:
use mysqli or PDO instead in
/usr/share/egroupware/phpgwapi/inc/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on
line 349
I'm assuming when I upgrade to 14 this will go away.
Not automatically, but you you can either edit header.inc.php and change
db_type from “mysql” to “mysqli”, or use our header-admin (lower login
in setup) to do so.
PHP was upgraded to PHP/5.5.9-1ubuntu4.7
Again a number of changes in configuration which I was able to take
care of
"magic quotes" have been removed for PHP.
rewrite rules are apparently no long allowed in .htaccess files.
This last item is one that I have some concern about on my system
/usr/local/.htaccess had some rewrite rules identified as for
eGroupware. I’m not sure what they were for but as far as I can tell
everything is working.
This week I intend to try to upgrade to the current community version
using the openSuse repositories. Any think I should look out for?
Nope, it should just work, thought a MySQL backup of your database is
always a good precaution.
