Uploading Multiple Files

Good Afternoon All,
I’m somewhat confused with uploading multiple files. Below are the steps I’m taking.

I’m on v1.4.004

I select ‘File Manager’.
I select the icon to ‘Upload’.
I select to upload five files.
I browse to my folder(s) and upload the necessary files.
I select ‘Upload Files’.
I’m then taken back to the ‘File Manager’, and I see the files I’ve uploaded.
The location drop-down shows: /home/firstName.lastName/
The options I have are: go up, go home, reload, quick jump to, upload, edit, rename, delete, edit comments, copy to, move to, create folder, and create file.
None of the options allows me to move the file(s) to a folder within MyDMS.

I have a few questions:

Where exactly are my files located once I upload them?
How can I access them?
Ultimately, I want to move those files to a folder within MyDMS. How can I do that?
How can I browse to the folders within MyDMS from File Manager?
When I select a folder within MyDMS, I know I can select ‘Add Document’ from the left navigation, but that only allows me to add one document at a time from my PC. (Read question three.)

The short answer is, you cant.

MyDMS is not integrated into EGroupware. So from Filemanager you can not
see MyDMS files.

MyDMS was deprecated in EGroupware 1.6 and is no longer part of new
EGroupware 1.8 community release.

Anyway you should update from the ancient 1.4 release, there have been
several security related releases since then!

Thanks for your answer. The files that I upload via File Manager, where are they exactly located at, and how do I access them? It shows the location as being /home/firstName.lastName/. Where is that location at?

Finally, I will be upgrading to the latest version. I’m new to EGroupware, can you guide me as to what I would need to do to upgrade? Is there documentation that can guide me step-by-step?

Thanks for your answer. The files that I upload via File Manager, where are

It’s in EGroupware’s VFS (virtual file system). In 1.4 this translates
contentwise (but NOT permission wise) to a direct location in your
server filesystem (files-directory you specified in setup).

From 1.6 on, there’s no direct translation anymore, thought you can eg.
use WebDAV to access VFS without the web interface.

Finally, I will be upgrading to the latest version. I’m new to EGroupware,
can you guide me as to what I would need to do to upgrade? Is there
documentation that can guide me step-by-step?
