Use of mbstring.internal_encoding is deprecated

Good morning,

let me first say, that my transistion from 1.8 (svn) to 14.1 (rpm) went
surprisingly smooth, as when following the lists, one could get the
impression that there are many problems and caveats (which is
obiously NOT the case for at least my setup).

There is however one cosmetic issue I would like to address, before
14.2 hits the road:

asyncwrapper keeps sending me mails hourly with the following
content:

PHP Deprecated: ini_set(): Use of mbstring.internal_encoding is
deprecated in
/usr/share/egroupware/phpgwapi/inc/class.translation.inc.php on line
171

For the record: I’m on openSUSE 13.2 with PHP 5.6.1

I’m changed the mentioned line from
ini_set(‘mbstring.internal_encoding’,self::$system_charset);
to
ini_set(‘default_charset’,self::$system_charset);
which stops these mails.

I did not notice any regression in functionality with this change, however,
as I’m not an php-expert, I’m not sure if this is equivalent.
But in case it is, this minor change would mak emy inbox quite happy…

I too, seem to be receiving, this email but seems like more than 1 per hour.

Perfect, revision 49789 does the trick!
No more mails complaining about deprecated mbstring.internal_encoding.
