Using EGW addressbook as contact info collector

Hi all

This will probably seem a odd request, but has anyone setup a ‘public’ access to the EGW address book, that would allow applicants to enter their own contact info, or has anyone created a web form for collecting contact info that can pipe the data straight into a particular address book?

Our situation is that we are performing a lot of manual processing of course applicants (potential students). They complete a webform, which automatically emails a CSV file to the contact person. That person then has to process the full form using a spreadsheet, crop out non-contact data (courses, certificates, etc) and then import the contact info into EGW address book. Automating this process would be very helpful

Hi Kenneth,

by filling our contact form on www.egroupware.org the information will be piped automatically into a specific address book and send a notification email to us. We can just follow up as we have all important information available within EGroupware. It is done on base of the SiteMgr module. A bit tricky configuration, but works like a charm. A few EGroupware clients went even further and allow their contacts to upload files in addition (e.g. applications). My colleague Stefan Becker is the expert for such kinds of customization.
