V17.1 Project tree in Sidebar

Can we turn this feature off yet?

We have so many projects that the query to fill this tree takes a long time. Our project counts: Active ~5000, Archive ~2000, Non active ~2000. Each project contains about 10 elements (types = Calendar, Addressbook, Infologs)

Or maybe show me how to reduce the amount of rows fetched?

Hi paulr00001,

What happens if you collapse the entire sidebar in the Project Manager? Takes it the same long time to open the Projekt-Manager?

This does reduce the loading time, once I collapse the “Project Manager Menu”.

Maybe I’d get the same results by hiding this section in CSS?

Not much benefit in only hiding it via CSS. In the past I’ve disabled it from running by commenting out a line in class.projectmanager_ui.inc.php

I was kinda hoping for a pm preference that just turns it off.

In case this is useful to others, the line I commented out in file class.projectmanager_ui.inc.php

//self::_project_tree_leaves($filter,$parent_pm_id?$parent_pm_id : 'mains',$_pm_id ? $_pm_id : $parent_pm_id,$nodes);

Lastly, a little CSS to hide the dead tree.
