i used yum to install eGroupware in centos 5.4.
I Run installation tests, it complained /var/lib/php/session does not exist
but /var/lib/php/session does exist.
owner is set to apache too.
error:
ErrorChecking if php.ini setting session.save_path=’/var/lib/php/session’
is writable by the webserver:
/var/lib/php/session does not exist !!!
You will NOT be able to log into eGroupWare using PHP sessions: “session
could not be verified” !!!
Does the Apache-user have access to the full path to that directory?
Best way to test it is to login as “apache” and then change to that directory.
If that works, then also do a “touch test” to make sure the apache user can
actually create a file there.
In order to traverse the directory structure, the apache user needs to have at
least “r.x” permissions on:
/var
/var/lib
/var/lib/php
and rwx on:
/var/lib/php/session
Either through “user”, “groups” or “other” permissions.
