Is it possible to access work-flow with version 1.8? if so please give me
some guidelines as to how this works.

Hi,
Just checkout the workflow subdirectory from the egroupware subversion
repository and install it as a normal module.
Do not forget to adjust the setup/setup.inc.php with the new version
numbers.
