POST request with size 0M detected, larger than post_max_size=64M, and therefore not processed by PHP!

Hello,

following these instructions, I would like to set up the development environment from scratch:

egroupware/doc/docker/development at master · EGroupware/egroupware

After creating the database instance in the setup, I call “Re-Chek my database” and then receive this error message:

“POST request with size 0M detected, larger than post_max_size=64M, and therefore not processed by PHP!”

No tables are created in the DB schema.
I had the same error message before when trying to restore a backup.

Can someone please help me to solve this problem?

EGroupware Version: 23.1.20250506
PHP: 8.4.6

Why was that necessary, the image should do the installation?

It comes from here: https://github.com/EGroupware/egroupware/blob/master/setup/index.php#L169

It checks for an empty $_POST and $_FILES for a POST request, which - as far as I know - only happens when the maximum POST size, a PHP configuration, is exceeded.

Thought in your case it seem to happen with a fairly small Content-Length, strange …

Did you do any modification on the system?

I was able to reproduce that clicking on the [DB Backup & Restore] button in Setup.

It sends an empty POST request and wrongly triggering this warning.

That’s fixed now:

fix empty POST request triggered post_max_size exceeded warning

Thought as the whole thing is only a warning trying to make the user aware of a possible problem when uploading huge files or backups, it should not cause anything else but the warning message being displayed.

Thanks Ralf for your very quick support.
My original problem was probably a corrupted configuration between EGroupware and MariaDB containers, because I didn’t clean up properly enough.
