Hi,

few days ago I have to change my server hdd. So I made a backup form EGW administration, reinstalled everything on new hdd and restored backup. All ok, but only today I realized we aren’t recieving notifications by email anymore.
I tried to “fix” account made by setup but nothing. Then I deleted it and I created a new SMTP-only mail account following this thread: SMTP-only mail account for notifications

But notifications by male are still missing. Where can I check the error? Thx.

Which version (from admin/change log and versions)? egroupware-docker (19.1.20191031)

Installation type: package installation

Does the error occur after an update? No, also before last update.

Are there any references in the web server error log?

Which database is used: MySQL

Which web server is used: Apache

Which version of PHP is used? PHP Version 7.3.11-1+ubuntu18.04.1+deb.sury.org+1

Hi GianL.

So no e-mail is sent if you have an appointment with a reminder?

Sending e-mails via the mail module works?

Did you go through the setup of the SNTP account with the assistant? This will check the access and possibly display errors.

Is the cron-job running (for the asynchronous mail jobs)?

No, no e-mail.

Yes. Also via cron-job test. It correctly uses the smtp only account.

Yes. But after exiting the wizard with no error, it doesn’t create the ne account smtp only. I had to do it manually.

It seems so:

I checked again. This problem is since I restored a backup on a new machine, same enviroment, only different hdd (28 october). So, the smtp only account works but no notifications.
In my preferences:

I’m testing editing infolog entries delegated to my user, modified by another user, and also with calendar entries.

Update: the 2am cronjob works. But no notifications on infolog entry modify.

Update: solved.

It seems that EGW uses smtp only account for the daily notification, but the smtp of the main (?) account for other ones.
I didn’t check that my account (not the smtp only on) lost autentication during the migration process and it wasn’t able to send mail. with right username & password all ok.
I was focused on smtp only account, I thought it was the one used for every notification.
