Collabora Online: Wechsel der Benutzeroberfläche Classic <=> Notebookbar
Collabora Online provides two user interfaces as of version 6.4.0:
classic
and notebookbar
The user interface is set in the Collabora online configuration file
/var/lib/egroupware/default/loolwsd/loolwsd.xml
on the host system.
In the section
<user_interface>
<mode type="string" desc="Controls the user interface style (classic|notebookbar)" default="@USER_INTERFACE_MODE@">notebookbar</mode>
</user_interface>
change the text >notebookbar<
according to the documentation in the configuration line.
The setting becomes effective immediately after saving. Calling up a file each time attracts the configuration file.
This configuration is a global setting and therefore applies to all users equally.
As of 17.01.2021, there are two problems with the Notebookbar user interface. Everyone must decide for themselves (their users) whether these are a knock-out criterion.
-
Missing function/symbol "Send file"
In the Classic user interface we have integrated an icon in Collabora Online to send a file directly as an attachment (the blue email icon). The possibility has not yet been re-integrated by Collabora into the Notebookbar user interface. It is therefore not possible for the application developers of the host application to add further functions at the moment.

Missing file types “Save as”
“Save as” opens an EGroupware save dialogue. At this point, the option to select other file types is missing.
This means that the file cannot be saved under a different name from Collabora Online!
Both topics are in progress. Both problems are solved!
Since EGroupware 21.1, the interface can be controlled individually via a user setting:
We have changed the designation classic/notebookbar, which are the technical/internal/developer designations, to toolbars/tabs. This corresponds to the user interface of LibreOffice or Collabora Office:
