Disable Sieve server

Hi there.

Is it possible to totally disable Sieve server?

When some of email users change their password or new sign up they get confuse regarding Sieve server.

We do not use Sieve server.

Hi calgaryx.

Sieve is an essential technology for controlling server-side filters and out-of-office notifications from a mail client (EGroupware).

There is therefore nothing to deactivate in EGroupware. You have already ‘not activated’ in the screenshot.

Our users do not create email accounts for them self.

Admin in our school do that.

We use Imap authentic.

But still when they log in first time or they change password they have to enter mail server info. Like Imap, smtp server name and password. Some of them get confuse regarding Sieve server.

Hi calgaryx.

You cannot hide the Sieve settings/the map tab.

Do the admins create a separate account for each student?

I would try a group account. Then the user logs in for e-mail (account) with their EGroupware access data. This means that a user would only have to change their EGroupware password. NOT the email account.

In principle, the problem would not arise if you authenticate the mail server and EGroupware against a shared user database. That would be normal…
Or use EGroupware-Mail-Server

We have installed this great software using Cpanel in shared hosting.
Basically our school admin will create email account using Cpanel.

We do not have lots email account i think we can handle that way.
Anyway thanks for your help
