Traditionally EGroupware was just a mail-client with the ability to administrate a mail-server (through a shared LDAP or SMTP server, and lots of manual configuration on the mail-server side).

With the advent of EGroupware Mail there’s now an easy to install mail-server component for EGroupware, which integrates itself automatically with EGroupware.
