Hello dear EGroupware users, admins and interested people.
As already announced here:
we are currently developing an integration of BigBlueButton (BBB) into EGroupware. It will be used in the same way as it already is with Jitsi as video conferencing software. However, the integration is a little bit more complex…, for us as developers.
We will not offer BBB servers as SaaS ourselves, as there are good providers on the market that we can integrate into EGroupware.
For the current development we have chosen
as partner.
We think this provider is highly recommended. And this for many reasons.
They will soon make their website available in English as well. The user interface can also be in English. Further languages will follow…
Also for interested parties around Germany. For those interested further away, we cannot say what BBB “feels” like from a German data centre. If someone makes an experience with it he can report here in the forum. That would be really interesting!
Let me just briefly touch on one aspect of this: The costs.
At bbbserver.de you pay depending on or for the maximum number of connections. I can create any number of users and assign them organizer rights. Each user can organise conferences.
With the “market leaders” it is usually the case that a licence is required for everyone who is to be able to organise a conference.
A small example:
30 employees who should be able to invite or want to start ad-hoc conferences. With the provider xxx
currently the pro version (with uploading slides and annotations) costs 5158,80€ with annual payment (for 30 organisers) as a special offer.
At bbbserver.de with 30 simultaneous connections (works meeting 
) 306€/year/net.
If the range of functions is right for you, this is unbeatable. Therefore: Book the Test Connection Package and have a look at it. It is worth it!
